The former couple met at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU).

There isn’t much information on when they married or how long they were married. However, while she was marketing her film in Sweden in 1981, Poland proclaimed martial law.

Holland was cautioned not to visit Poland again. Instead, she escaped to Paris, leaving her husband and her nine-year-old kid behind. She hadn’t seen her child in eight months.
