One of the oddest and windiest stories of the 2022 college basketball season was delivered by Florida State’s highly prized freshman forward Baba Miller. Miller, a highly sought-after prospect from Spain, made his Florida State commitment in the first few days of June 2022. However, the NCAA learned in October that Miller had taken money from a third party to pay for travel costs to a 2020 recruiting camp he attended.

Miller’s family paid the bill back right away, but he was still given a 16-game suspension as a result. When Miller was 12 years old, he started competing for the Real Madrid team in Spain. He played for their B Team the most of the 2021–2022 season, averaging 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
