English impressionist, comedian, and actor Michael Yarwood (14 June 1941 – 8 September 2023) passed away. He was a popular entertainer in Britain who appeared frequently on television from the 1960s through the 1980s.

Yarwood made several appearances on British television programs in the 1960s and 1970s. He worked for the ITV franchise holder ATV prior to his numerous eponymous BBC television programs.

After leaving the BBC, he worked at Thames Television. Yarwood’s initial success can be attributed to his 1964 debut on the Sunday Night at the London Palladium variety show. Yarwood’s impersonation of Harold Wilson, the head of the Labour Party and Prime Minister, corresponded with his appearance at the height of his political career.
