He made his senior debut in 2016 with Mogliano, where he played for two seasons, making 36 appearances and scoring 15 points.
Nicotera additionally played for San Dona for one season and spent another two seasons playing for Rovigo, where he made 24 appearances and scored 30 goals.
Nicotera first played on loan for Benetton in 2020, before signing a permanent contract with the team in 2022.
On the international stage, Nicotera first played for Italy in 2021 and the following year, he was selected as part of the Italy 33-man squad for the 2022 Six Nations Championship.
