Born on November 20, 1993, in New Zealand, Scott Kevin Barrett plays locks for the Crusaders in Super Rugby and Taranaki in the Mitre 10 Cup. Following New Zealand’s third-place finish in the Rugby World Cup, Barrett was chosen to captain the Crusaders in Super Rugby in the 2020 season. When that happened, Barrett was praised as a future All-Black captain.

Barrett’s major break came in June 2014 when he was selected for a Crusaders team without any international players that competed in a midweek fixture against the visiting England national team. Despite the less-than-desirable outcome, Barrett earned his first full cap for the Crusaders when the Super Rugby season began after the mid-year internationals.
