Anthony Vaccarello is a Belgian-Italian fashion designer. He is the only child of Italian parents.

However, the names of his parents are not public knowledge. His father was a cartongesso maker, while his mother worked in an office.
Vaccarello attended law school for a year before enrolling at La Cambre in 2000 to study sculpting. He switched to a fashion study at the same place and graduated with honours in 2006.
His graduation collection was shown at the Hyères Fashion Festival in Southern France. Following the show, Karl Lagerfeld offered him a place in Fendi’s fur design department.

He is the current creative director of Yves Saint Laurent. Under his leadership, YSL has continued to be a major player in the fashion world, known for its modern and edgy designs.
During his first full year as creative designer at Saint Laurent, the company’s revenue climbed by 25.3% over 2016. Prior to this position, he was creative director at Versus Versace. He has also designed his own eponymous line.
