Kyle McCord is an American football quarterback for Ohio State. He is the son of Stacy And Derek McCord.

His father, Derek McCord, played quarterback at Rutgers from 1988 to 1992. Additional information about his family is currently unavailable.
McCord attended Philadelphia’s St. Joseph’s Preparatory School. As a sophomore, he set a school record by passing for 2,883 yards and 35 touchdowns.
During his junior season, he passed for 2,399 yards and 31 touchdowns before missing the final four games due to injury.

McCord concluded his high school career with a Philadelphia Catholic League record 6,887 throwing yards and 88 touchdown passes.
He was a four-star prospect who committed to play collegiate football at Ohio State. McCord spent his first year at Ohio State mostly as a backup to starter C. J. Stroud.
McCord began his sophomore season as the Buckeyes’ backup quarterback. He came off the bench in seven games and completed 16 of 20 ball attempts for 190 yards and one touchdown.
In 2023, he took over as Ohio State’s starting quarterback. He was chosen the starter for the Buckeyes’ first game of the season.
