Steve Harwell is a musician from the United States with a net worth of $2.5 million.

Harwell is well known as the founder and lead singer of Smash Mouth. He and bassist Paul De Lisle have been with the band from their inception.

They are the only remaining founding members of the band. Harwell announced his retirement from public performance in October 2021.

Aside from his involvement with the band, Harwell gained notoriety after being cast in the sixth season of VH1’s reality show The Surreal Life.

The show, which featured celebs who were considered to be past their prime, housed the participants in a Hollywood Hills estate for two weeks and followed their every action with an unforgiving camera.

Harwell was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and Wernicke encephalopathy in 2013, both of which can impair motor functions such as speech and memory, as well as heart failure. Harwell claimed that he retired because his ability to function well was hampered by these issues.

Harwell’s representative reported in September 2023 that he was in hospice care with end-stage liver failure and only had days to live.
