Andrew Scott is an Irish actor known for his versatile and acclaimed performances in both film and television.

He is he son of Nora and Jim Scott. His mother was an art teacher and his father Jim worked at an employment agency.
Andrew Scott is the second of three children. He has an older sister, Sarah, and a younger sister, Hannah. He was raised as a Catholic, but has since left the faith.

Scott is also recognized for his portrayal of Jim Moriarty in the television series “Sherlock,” starring alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.
He received more recognition for his performance as Garry Essendine in The Old Vic’s 2019 stage production of Present Laughter, for which he received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play.
Other honors include the Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre for his performance in A Girl in a Car with a Man at the Royal Court Theatre.
