Jamie Christopher, who served as a first assistant director and associate producer on Marvel movies like Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and others, passed away from heart issues today at his home. He was 52.

Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito, executives at Marvel Studios, released a joint statement regarding Christopher’s passing. In addition to others, Christopher regularly collaborated with Rian Johnson, James Gunn, David Yates, and Sam Raimi.

He collaborated with Johnson for the first time on The Last Jedi (2017), and Johnson rehired him for the 2019 debut of his Knives Out series.
Christopher played a significant role in the Harry Potter film series as well, working as first assistant director or first assistant director: second unit on each of the eight films that were released between 2001 and 2011.
