Christian Kirksey Parents: Meet Elmer Kirksey, Patrice Kirksey

Christian Paul Kirksey is an American football linebacker for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL).

He is the son of Elmer Kirksey and Patrice Kirksey. His father was a pastor.  Christian and his father Elmer were close.

Christian accompanied his father wherever he went, while his older siblings stayed at home and watched TV. They headed to the hardware store. They attended church. They decided to go fishing.

During Christian’s senior year of high school, his father Elmer suffered a stroke. After football practise, Christian would stroll down the street to the hospital to see Elmer.

Christian would occasionally spend the night. When his father died, his mother, Patrice, took over his father’s ministry.

Kirksey attended the University of Iowa, where he played football for the Hawkeyes from 2010 to 2013.

As a junior in 2012, he was selected team captain. After the season, he was named honourable mention All-Big Ten.

Christian Kirksey was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He has played for 3 teams since his draft. On August 30, 2023, Kirksey was signed to the practice squad of the Buffalo Bills
