Desmond King II is a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is the father of a baby girl Zuri.

King attended East English Village Preparatory Academy. He was a defensive back and a running back for the Bulldogs. He set a Michigan high school record with 29 interceptions during his career.

Rivals.com rated King as a three-star prospect, and he committed to play college football at the University of Iowa. In 2013, King was a true freshman at the University of Iowa and started all 13 games.

King was selected a unanimous All-American and won the 2015 Jim Thorpe Award, which is presented to the top defensive back in college football, after a fantastic junior season in which he made 43 tackles and a Big-Ten high 8 interceptions.

King was named First-Team All-Big Ten for the second season in a row on November 29, 2016. He was also named an AP Second-Team All-American in 2016.

In 2018, he was named All-Pro as a defensive back and a punt returner. He was picked in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Chargers.
