The pole vaulting record in Australia is held by Nina Kennedy, an athlete. In Busselton, Western Australia, on April 5, Nina Kennedy was born. However, her family relocated to Perth, where she finished her basic education.

She started pole vaulting when she was 11 years old and joined her first club, Perry Lakes Little Athletics. At an athletic event a year later, a pole vault coach discovered her talent.
In February 2015, Nina Kennedy set a world junior record in Perth by clearing 4.43, 4.50, and 4.59 meters. She was so eligible to compete at the Beijing 2015 World Championships, however she was unable to clear the starting height in the qualifying round. She beat Eliza McCartney and jumped a 4.60m at the National Championships.
