On November 15, 2018, his 1972 piece Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) became the most expensive living artist’s work ever sold at auction when it was purchased for $90 million (£70 million) at Christie’s in New York City.

Through Denmark’s Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, David Hockney, 82, posted the brand-new work on Instagram on Thursday. The drawing was created on his iPad and shows a clump of vivid yellow daffodils blooming in the middle of a green field with a faraway, desolate environment in the backdrop.
