Morris must perform well at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships in Bogotá in order to qualify for the Paris Olympics, as well as garner enough support to be elected to the new IWF Athletes’ Commission.

His consistently rising stats make that initial aim more likely than unlikely. He has won global championships at the youth and junior levels in the 61 kilogram weight class, setting numerous world records along the way.
