One of the most reputable and regarded forecasters in the country for more than 30 years is Jim Cantore, a meteorologist with the Weather Channel television network. Beyond meteorology, his ability to communicate to viewers the scientific causes and effects of the weather extends to journalism.

Cantore was reared in White River Junction, Vermont, after moving there as a child from Waterbury, Connecticut. After earning his degree from Lyndon State College, he started working for The Weather Channel in 1986. Cantore hosts and forecasts the country’s weather on a daily basis and collaborates on the creation of films on meteorology, forecasting, and historic storms.
Cantore has covered events including the Olympics, NASA launches, NFL games, PGA tournaments, and the Winter X Games during his career.
