David Sills began playing football at the age of six. At age 9, he began receiving training under quarterback coach Steve Clarkson.

Sills recorded a successful collegiate career at West Virginia University, where he played both as a quarterback and a wide receiver, and led his team in touchdown receptions.
He was named both to the first-team 2017 College Football All-America Team selection, and as FBS Touchdown Receptions leader.
In 2018, Sills led the Big 12 Conference in touchdowns, and in 2019, he got signed with the New York Giants.
His time spent with the Giants has seen him surpass 100 career receiving yards, “recording a 19-yard reception that increased his career total from 99 to 118 receiving yards.”
As of 2022, Sills’ NFL statistics showed a record of 13 receptions and 123 receiving yards.
In 2023, the Giants resigned him to a reserve/future contract.
