About Ioannis Papapetrou

Ioannis Papapetrou was born on March 30, 1994, in Patras, Greece, and began his basketball career with Ilysiakos youth club in Athens, Greece, where he played for 5 seasons.

Papapetrou played high school basketball at the Florida Air Academy, in Melbourne, Florida.

He then went on to play college basketball for the Texas Longhorns at the University of Texas, where he appeared in a total of 34 games in the NCAA.

Papapetrou turned pro with the Greek League team Olympiacos in 2013, after signing a 5-year deal worth $2 million with the team.

While he played for Olympiacos, he won the Greek League championship in 2015 and 2016, and was named the Greek League Best Young Player.

In 2023, Papapetrou made a comeback to Panathinaikos and signed a two-year deal.
