American professional basketball player Thomas Ryan Walkup (born December 30, 1992) plays for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in the German Basketball Bundesliga. For Stephen F. Austin State University, he participated in college basketball. Walkup won the Southland Conference Player of the Year award in each of the previous two years (2015 and 2016). He attended Deer Park High School in Deer Park, Texas, before playing at the collegiate level. Walkup was born and raised in Pasadena, Texas.

As the Lumberjacks’ sixth man during his rookie season, Walkup stepped into a significant position right away. He averaged 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds across 18.5 minutes per game.
