Nicol Melli plays professionally in basketball for Olimpia Milano of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) and the EuroLeague. He is an Italian-American. He additionally represents Italy’s senior national team. Although he mostly plays at power forward, he has also played center. In 2017, Melli was chosen for the All-EuroLeague Second Team.

Melli also competes for Italy’s senior national team. At the age of 13, Melli was called up to train with the senior team in October 2004 due to a series of injuries.

He participated in the Italian leg of the Jordan Classic Camp international tour in October 2006, which featured thirty of the top under-16 athletes and offered the MVP a trip to the American edition.
