Who Is Maggie Haney?
Maggie Haney is a gymnastics coach currently serving as the head coach at MG Elite Gymnastics, Inc., in New Jersey.
Haney was born on February 8, 1978, and is famous for coaching 2016 Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez and 2018 World champion Riley McCusker.

Upon practising gymnastics from an early age, Haney attended North Carolina State University, where she took part in the women’s gymnastics program and ranked amongst “the most Perfect 10s” in the school’s history.

Her coaching career kicked off in 2007, and for seven years in a row, Haney had at least one athlete from her program on the national team roster.
Unfortunately, Haney’s career took a nosedive when over half a dozen allegations bordering on verbal and emotional abuse were levelled against her.
These allegations first attracted suspensions for Haney by the USA Gymnastics.
Still, other cases of verbal and emotional abuse came up against Haney, with some gymnasts sustaining severe injuries under her tutelage. Haney received another 5-year suspension in 2019.
However, despite the suspension, Haney was reportedly still coaching gymnasts as of late 2020.
