During the 2020-2021 season, NHL teams placed Logan Mailloux on their “do not draft” lists after he was charged in Sweden for allegedly “taking and distributing an offensive photo without consent during a consensual sexual encounter. ”
Mailloux was a member of the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, but he was on loan to SK Lejon of Sweden’s third level when the OHL was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He allegedly took a picture of the woman as the two were having oral sex and then shared the pictures with his teammates in a Snap Chat group chat.

According to police, he also gave a copy of her online page, which included her photo, initial name, and age. He was subsequently charged with defamation and offensive photography and sentenced to pay 14,300 Swedish krona (about $1,650) via a criminal injunction, which kept the matter out of court.
Mailloux opted out of the 2021 NHL Entry draft, citing that he did not want to be drafted and instead wanted to focus on his reconciliation and progress. Despite this, the Montreal Canadiens chose Mailloux in the first round, 31st overall.
