Paul Hanagan is a British flat racing jockey who won the Classic on September 8, 1980 in Warrington, Cheshire. Hanagan won the title of best flat jockey in Britain twice. He rode 165 winners in 2011 to defend his first-place finish from 191 wins in 2010.

He won 10 Group 1 events overall throughout his 25-year career, including the Epsom Oaks. He rode for Malton-based trainer Richard Fahey from 1999 until 2022, with the exception of a four-and-a-half-year sabbatical during which he was kept by owner Sheikh Hamdan. In August 2023, he declared his retirement from competitive riding.

Hanagan achieved scores of 6, 23, and 29 in 1999, 2000, and 2001, respectively, four years into a growing career.
