About Harold Shipman
Harold Shipman was a medical serial killer who committed suicide in his prison cell in January 2004.
Shipman’s death came after he was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing several patients during his years of practice as a medical doctor.

The British-born doctor had attended Leeds School of Medicine and later worked at various hospitals in the UK as far back as the 1970s.

Shipman’s career took a dark turn when he began administering lethal doses of medications to his patients, leading to their deaths.
Suspicions were raised after a forged will of one of his deceased patients, Katherine Grundy, came to light.
As investigations took place, evidence of Shipman’s murders began to accumulate.
After his death in prison, Shipman’s remains were taken to the mortuary at the Medico Legal Centre in Sheffield for a post-mortem examination.
Afterwards, he was secretly cremated on 19 March 2005.
