Williams redshirted as a true freshman but played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys for five seasons. As he entered his redshirt freshman year, he was promoted to starter. Williams, a redshirt senior, was selected to the second team of the Big 12 Conference after only allowing nine pass completions and breaking up seven passes. The New York Giants selected Williams in the sixth round (201st overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. Williams formally committed to the Giants on May 13, 2021.
