World sprint champion Letsile Tebogo hails from Botswana in Southern Africa. He was born in Kanye, Botswana.

Who Is Letsile Tebogo?
Letsile Tebogo is a sprinter from Botswana who won the silver medal at the 2023 World Championships in the 100 m category.
Born on June 7, 2003, Tebogo became the first African sprinter to win a medal at the World Championships.

Tebogo first competed at the World Athletics Relays at age 17, and went on to take part in other Championships in Nairobi, Kenya.

At the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in 2021 and 2022, Tebogo won the gold medal in the 100 metres and a silver in the 200 metres category.
He became “the first Botswana athlete to claim the 100m title at any World Championships level”, and the youngest to ever win the 200m title in the competition’s history.
Tebogo is also the first athlete from Botswana to break the 10-second barrier, after clocking a time of 9.91 seconds.
