Nate Dogg was an American singer/rapper and actor. He was the son of Daniel Lee Hale and Ruth Holmes.

His father was a pastor at Long Beach’s New Hope Baptist Church, where he sang. He also sang at Life Line Baptist Church in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
At the age of 17, Hale dropped out of high school, left home, and enlisted in the Marine Corps 30 days later. He was discharged in 1989 after three years as an ammunition specialist.
Nate Dogg began his career by joining the rap trio 213 with Snoop Dogg and Warren G. He went on to become one of the most recognised figures in the West Coast hip-hop culture, topping 16 times on the Billboard Hot 100.

Some of his most well-known features include Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode” and 50 Cent’s “21 Questions.” Aside from these collaborations, Nate released three solo studio albums and a number of singles, largely in the 1990s. Nate Dogg passed away on March 15, 2011, at the age of 41.
