Anna Chapman Husband: Meet Alex Chapman

Alex Chapman was the husband of Anna Chapman, a Russian intelligence agent, media personality and model.

Anna met her ex-husband Alex Chapman at a rave party in London’s Docklands in 2001. They married soon after in Moscow, and she obtained British citizenship in addition to her original Russian citizenship, as well as a British passport.

Anna Chapman went to London in 2003 or 2004, where she worked for NetJets and Barclays. In 2006, Anna and Alex Chapman divorced.

After heir divorce she moved to New York. Anna was arrested in New York on spying charges in 2010, her ex-husband Alex hired media publicist Max Clifford and sold her story to The Daily Telegraph.

She pleaded guilty to conspiracy to act as an agent of a foreign government without informing the US Attorney General. She was deported to Russia in 2010 as part of a prisoner exchange between the United States and Russia.

Alex Chapman died from a heroin overdose in May 2015 at the age of 36.  Alex Chapman’s death was confirmed by his family, who insisted there were no suspicious circumstances and that Anna had nothing to do with it.
