Late English entertainer Bob Hope passed away on July 27, 2003, at the age of 100. He was survived by four children.

Hope was temporarily buried in a mausoleum vault until the construction of the “Bob Hope Memorial Garden at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Los Angeles.”

Who Was Bob Hope?

Bob Hope was an entertainer known basically for comedy, acting, and boxing. Hope was actively in the entertainment industry for over 80 years.

He became famous for his works on network radio, television, and USO Tours.

Hope was born on May 29, 1903, and appeared in over 70 films, stage productions and television series during his lifetime.

He wrote 14 books and anchored the Academy Awards about 19 times.

Hope additionally worked as a broadcaster and presenter on NBC Radio, and the NBC television network.

He entertained military personnel around the world by making several tours for the United Service Organizations (USO). In 1997, he was named an honorary veteran of the Armed Forces.

Hope retired from public life in 1998, but before then, he received many honours and awards, including five honorary awards by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences:
