During her career as a softball player, she won several medals in international competitions, including gold medals at the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2010 World Championships.

She gained prominence as a baseball analyst on ESPN, becoming the first female analyst for a Major League Baseball (MLB) game broadcast.

Mendoza currently doubles as an analyst for the Women’s College World Series, and the first female broadcaster to do so.
