American professional softball player Monica Cecilia Abbott. After the national softball team took home the silver medal, she competed for Team USA in the Olympics.
In Santa Cruz, California, Monica was born on July 28, 1985. She attended North Salinas High School from 1993 to 2003. She spent time there and was a member of the Vikings squad that won three Division I CIF Central Coast Section championships.

Monica’s accomplishments were highlighted by the several honors she won, including Sports Focus Athlete of the Year and Cal-Hi Softball Athlete of the Year. She twice took home the Salinas Californian Athlete of the Year award as well.
