Former American football player Michael Oher, who was “adopted” by the Tuohy family, has had a rocky relationship with the family in recent years.

He does not have a close relationship with the frailty as of this writing. The Tuohy’s were not invited to attend Michael Oher’s wedding ceremony to Tiffany Roy in 2022.
Oher filed a lawsuit in August 2023, arguing that Leigh Ann and Sean Tuohy never officially adopted him, but instead established a conservatorship that gave them legal rights to conduct business in his name.

He claimed that the Tuohys exploited their conservatorship authority to negotiate a contract in which they and their two children received millions of dollars in royalties from the Blind Side film while Oher received nothing.

Oher’s legal action requested that the court terminate the Tuohys’ conservatorship and issue an injunction prohibiting them from utilising his name and likeness.
It also requested a thorough accounting of the money gained by the Tuohys using Oher’s name, as well as his portion of earnings and other compensatory and punitive penalties.
