German filmmaker, Wim Wenders does not have any children even though he is currently in his 5th marriage. Born on August 14, 1945, he graduated from high school in Oberhausen in the Ruhr area and also attended the University of Freiburg and the University of Dusseldorf.

He started his career in the late 60s, during the New German Cinema era. During the early stage of his career, he had a long-time collaboration with Dutch cinematographer, Robby Muller.

Wenders has directed several documentaries including Buena Vista Social Club, The Soul of a Man, A Trick of the Light, and more. He is also known for several movies including Wings of Desire, Paris, Texas, Perfect Days, Pina, The Salt of the Earth, Alice in the Cities, The American Friend, Until the End of the World, Faraway, So Close!, Kings of the Road, The Wrong Move, and more.
He is a recipient of the Palme d’Or, Cannes Grand Prix, German Film Award for Best Feature Film, Golden Lion, Cesar Award for Best Documentary, German Film Award for Best Direction, BAFTA Award for Best Direction, and more.
