Swin Cash is a retired professional basketball player from the United States who played for the Women’s National Basketball Association for 15 seasons. She is the New Orleans Pelicans’ vice president of basketball operations and team development.

She led the Detroit Shock to its first WNBA Championship triumph in 2003, after guiding the Shock’s turnaround in the second half of her rookie season.
The New York Liberty waived Cash on May 11, 2016. Cash re-signed with Liberty for the rest of the season on May 24, 2016. She was immediately eligible for their game against the Atlanta Dream that day.
Cash announced her retirement on June 7, 2016, at the end of the 2016 season.

Why was Swin Cash’s number retired?
Cash became eligible to have her number retired after she was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in September. Lobo and Allen are also in the Hall of Fame.
How many seasons did Swin Cash play?
Cash joined Team USA for the 2012 Olympics in London, bringing home a second gold medal. She spent 15 seasons in the WNBA, retiring from the New York Liberty in 2016 as one of only two league players to achieve 5000 points, 2000 rebounds, and 1000 assists for their career.
