Who Is Miyabi Moriya?

Miyabi Moriya is a Japanese professional footballer who plays the defensive position for WE League club INAC Kobe Leonessa, and the Japan national team.

Born on August 22, 1996, in Nara Prefecture, Japan, Moriya began her senior career in 2015 with the Japanese football club INAC Kobe Leonessa.

Till date, Moriya continues to play for the International Athletic Club as a defender, and has made 19 appearances and scored three goals.

So far, she has helped the team win the Empress’s Cup two consecutive times in 2015 and 2016. She also helped the club win the WE League Cup in the 2021-22, and 2022–23 seasons, after she made her WE League debut in 2021.

Moriya made her debut for Japan in 2023, as part of the 23-player squad for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

It was her first World Cup appearance in a match against Costa Rica.

As an individual, Moriya has won a number of honors including WE League Best XI in 2022, and WE League Valuable Player Award, also in 2022.
