American voice actor, Johnny Hardwick has been reported dead. According to sources from the Austin medical examiner’s office, he died at his home in Austin on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at age 64.

Born in 1958, Johnny Hardwick started his career when he became the first comic to appear on Jon Stewart’s MTV show, due to its success, he was offered a sitcom at NBC but it was futile.

He went on to work with Greg Daniels for a writing job and ditched serving as a regular on the MTV series Austin Stories. He was also set to take part in a revival of King of the Hill at Hulu, which was announced in January 2023.
Hardwick was best known for voicing chain-smoking exterminator Dale Gribble for the whole 13-season run of King of the Hill on Fox. His character was a conspiracy theorist who lives next door to his best friend Hank Hill – who was also co-creator of the show, Mike Judge.
