When did Craig Bellamy retire?

Welsh-born soccer player Craig Bellamy was born on July 13, 1979, and is well-known throughout the sport. Craig is also well known for being a Welsh winger known as “Journeyman” who played in numerous English and Scottish leagues and for Wales from 1998 to 2013.
Former forward Bellamy is now Burnley’s assistant manager in the EFL Championship. In 1996, he signed with Norwich City, where he later made his professional debut.

Although he was demoted in his only season, he shattered the club’s transfer record when he signed for Premier League outfit Coventry City in 2000. He moved on to Newcastle United the following year, where he helped the team twice finish in the top four over the course of four years.

On May 22, 2014, Bellamy announced his retirement from football. He said, “I believe through the years I’ve become accustomed to the agony from various injuries, but for the last three to four years I’ve been on anti-inflammatories every day.
I’m not sure if my body will later consider that to be a smart move, but it kept me playing throughout that time. But now is the moment to take a step back and declare victory. My body is at its limit”.
