Sixto Rodriguez passed away on August 8, 2023, at the age of 81. Sixto Rodriguez’s death was first confirmed in a statement posted on his official website, Sugarman.org.

“It is with great sadness that we at Sugarman.org announce that Sixto Diaz Rodriguez has passed away,” the statement read.
“We extend our most heartfelt condolences to his daughters – Sandra, Eva and Regan – and to all his family.” “May His Dear Soul Rest In Peace,” the statement added. He died following a short illness, according to his wife, Konny Rodriguez.
Rodriguez most recently performed in the United States and Canada in 2018. In August 2018, he performed a tour that concluded with a hometown event at Detroit’s Garden Theatre.
