He has one brother, Tyler. Gilbert wasn’t heavily recruited out of high school, but he took advantage of the opportunity to stay close to home and follow in the footsteps of other outstanding pitchers.

Logan Gilbert was regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, and the Seattle Mariners selected him 14th overall. He agreed to terms with the Everett AquaSox for $3.88 million and was assigned to them.

However, he was forced to miss the rest of the season due to illness before making his first professional appearance. Gilbert was named to the 40-man roster and promoted to the major leagues for the first time on May 13, 2021.

Gilbert yielded one run in eight innings of work against the Oakland Athletics on September 30, 2022. His performance assisted the Mariners in clinching a playoff place for the first time since the 2001 MLB season.

In 2022, he went 13-6 with a 3.20 ERA in 32 starts covering 185.2 innings, gave up the highest percentage of line drives in the majors (28.9%), and balls hit against him had the greatest average exit velocity (91 mph) of all major league pitchers.
