Developing and testing new treatments takes time, and there are no guarantees of a cure in the near term.  Current therapies are palliative and only extend survival by a few months.

There are several treatment options, including stem cell therapy, occupational therapy, and gene therapy, which may help manage symptoms and slow the progression of the disease.

ALS primarily targets motor neurons, the nerve cells responsible for transmitting signals from the brain to muscles throughout the body. Initial signs may include muscle twitching, cramping, and weakness in the hands, feet, or limbs.

However, as the disease progresses, patients may experience difficulty speaking, swallowing, and performing everyday tasks. ALS can affect any part of the body, but it often starts in the hands, feet, arms, or legs.
