On October 5, 2020, American pitcher Shane McClanahan made his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays. McClanahan made 14 starts for USF in 2018, finishing 5-6 with a 3.42 ERA and a league-high 120 strikeouts. McClanahan will be promoted to the MLB by the Rays on April 28, 2021. In his first start of the season, he struck out 5 batters over 4 innings against the Oakland Athletics.
