Where did the Phillies get Bryson Stott?

Bryson Jeremy Stott (born October 6, 1997) is a Major League Baseball (MLB) shortstop for the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Philadelphia Phillies selected Bryson 14th overall in the first round of the 2019 MLB draft.

After singing with the Phillies, he was allocated to minor league organizations before making his professional MLB debut on April 8, 2022.

Stott went to Desert Oasis High School in Enterprise, Nevada, before beginning his professional career. Later, he attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and played NCAA baseball there.
During his time at UNLV, he played for the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Wareham Gatemen and the American collegiate national team.

Since the Phillies selected Stott out of UNLV in the 2019 MLB Draft, fellow Las Vegas native Bryce Harper has taken him under his wing. Harper noted in February 2021 that Stott reminded him of three past All-Stars: Brandon Crawford, J.J. Hardy, and Garret Anderson. Whether or whether that scouting report was accurate, Harper recognized something special in Stott.
