Hamler relocated from Pontiac, Michigan, to Florida for his senior year of high school football at IMG Academy. Hamler was a two-year letterman at St. Mary’s Preparatory School in Orchard Lake, Michigan, before transferring to IMG Academy.

Hamler was ruled out for 4-6 months on March 23, 2023, after undergoing surgery to repair a partially torn pectoral muscle he sustained while practising on his own.

On July 31, 2023, Hamler announced that he had pericarditis. The Denver Broncos then waived Hamler with a non-football sickness classification.
