Colombia is the country of birth of well-known cyclist Martha Bayona, who was born on August 12, 1995. She competed for her country in the women’s keirin at the 2016 Summer Olympics and represented it at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.

She began riding when she was eight years old, continuing the racing tradition started by her older sisters.In the inaugural UCI Track Champions League in 2021, Martha competed and placed fourth overall in the Sprint event. Since then, she has seen success after success, taking home three gold medals at the 2022 UCI Nations Cup and Bolivarian Games in addition to capturing her eighth Pan American Championships title.
