How did Rob Delaney become famous?

American comedian and actor, Rob Delaney became famous through Twitter. He was part of the earlier users on the platform when it started gaining attention in 2009. By 2016, he had over 1.2 million followers on the now-Elon-Musk-owned platform.

He is considered to be one of the first comedians to use social media as a main channel to publish jokes. However, he credited Irish comedy writer, Graham Linehan with his rise in popularity after Linehan began responding to his tweets.

Delaney was named one of the 10 funniest people on Twitter by Paste Magazine in 2010. In May 2012, he became the first comedian to win the award for Funniest Person on Twitter at The Comedy Awards.
