Hadeel Kohouli cause of death: What happened to the Tunisian wrestler? – The world of sport has been hit with tragedy following the death of Hadeel Kohouli, a champion junior wrestler aged just 16. Kohouli, a Tunisian rising star tragically drowned in a heartbreaking accident off the northwest coast.

According to reports, Kohouli was on a sea voyage when the tragedy happened. Her body was found during a search operation near Tabarka.

The Tunisian Wrestling Federation confirmed Kohouli’s death in the morning via a statement that reads:

“With all the meanings of sorrow and heartbreak, we learned today the news of the death of the champion of the national youth team and the wrestler of the Mostaqbal Club, the honourable daughter of Tunisia, Hadeel Kohouli.

“On this painful occasion, the Tunisian Wrestling Federation extends its deepest condolences.”

Who was Hadeel Kohouli?

Kohouli wrestled for the Mostaqbal Al-Reqab club in Sidi Bouzid and was a part of the Tunisian youth national squad.

Kohouli, who won bronze at the most recent African Championships in Hammamet, Tunisia – with Kohouli producing on home turf.

She competed in the Under-17s women’s freestyle division and finished third in the 69kg event, trailing gold medalist Joseth Sasa Mavungu of Angola and silver medalist Yasmine Bouregba of Algeria.
