Are Tajon Buchanan and Kadeisha Buchanan related?

A member of both the Olympique Lyonnais and the Canadian women’s national soccer team, Kadeisha Buchanan is a soccer player from Canada. Three times in 2015, 2017 and 2020 she has been named Canadian Player of the Year.

The 2015 FIFA Young Player Award went to Kadeisha as well. She has previously represented the Olympique Lyonnais, the Vaughan Azzurri, the Ottawa Fury Women, and the Toronto Lady Lynx. Kadeisha earned many honors while serving as a co-captain of the Mountaineers, a sports team from West Virginia University.

When she first joined Canada Soccer’s youth program in 2010, Buchanan was 14 years old. She supported Canada in 2012 when they competed in the CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship in Guatemala, where they took home a silver medal. She was selected to play for the Canadian women’s national team on January 12, 2013, while still a senior in high school, against China.
