Johnny Damon is a former professional baseball player who had a remarkable and enduring career in Major League Baseball (MLB). He is the son of Yome Damon, Jimmy Damon.

Yome, his mother, is a Thai immigrant to the United States, and Jimmy, his father, is an American of Croatian and Irish origin. They met while his father was stationed in Thailand as a staff sergeant in the United States Army.
Damon spent much of his childhood as a “Army brat,” travelling to various locations such as Okinawa, Japan, and West Germany until his father was released from the Army. While Johnny was in preschool, the Damon family moved to Orlando, Florida.

His journey in baseball began when he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1992. He made his MLB debut with the Royals in 1995. During his MLB career, Damon played for the Kansas City Royals (1995–2000), Oakland Athletics (2001), Boston Red Sox (2002–2005), New York Yankees (2006–2009), Detroit Tigers (2010), Tampa Bay Rays (2011) and Cleveland Indians (2012).
After his time with the Yankees, Damon had short stints with the Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Rays, and Cleveland Indians before retiring in 2012.
