Born on 6 June 1974, Bart-Williams passed away on 24 July 2023.

The Sierra-Leone-born Bart-Williams began his career as a trainee at Leyton Orient, where he made his senior debut at the age of 16. He went on to make over 150 appearances for Wednesday, where he played in the Premier League as a teenager, before joining Forest for £2.5 million in July 1995.

Bar-Williams played 248 games for Forest and later had spells with Charlton and Ipswich before moving into coaching in the US, initially in women’s college football.

He coached in the United States alongside Tony DiCicco, the former head coach of the United States women’s national soccer team.

Bart-Williams worked as an assistant for the WPSL’s Boston Breakers. He was an assistant coach for the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team, where he helped guide them to the MAAC championship and the first round of the NCAA tournament in 2013. He also spent six years as an assistant coach for the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team.

Bart-Williams represented England’s Under-21s 16 times and earned a cap for the national team’s B team in 1994.
