Christen Press has been recovering from an injury since June 2022. She tore her right ACL in June 2022 while playing for Angel City FC. The 34-year-old has not played a game since 2022 due to an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.

Christen Press has undergone three surgeries and is set to undergo a fourth operation on her injured knee, ruling her out of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand.

Christen Press is the all-time leading scorer for the Stanford Cardinal women’s soccer team with 71 goals. She was Stanford’s second Hermann Trophy winner and a two-time runner-up at the NCAA Women’s College Cup.

While playing for the Cardinal, Christen Press broke school records for career points (183), assists (41), and shots (500); as well as single-season records for goals (26), shots (180), and game-winning goals (10).
Christen Press has played for the Chicago Red Stars and Utah Royals in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC and Tyresö FF in the Swedish Damallsvenskan, magicJack in Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) and Manchester United of the English FA Women’s Super League.
